Can you take your dog to Toronto Island?

Island park, by ferry · Toronto Islands, by ferry from Jack Layton Ferry Terminal

Dogs: On a leash, ferry included

Yes. Dogs can ride the ferry to Toronto Island Park and walk the islands on a leash. The City lists no off-leash area on the islands, and dogs may not go on the swimming beaches from 1 April to 31 October.

Last checked 21 October 2026. Rules change, so read the signs at the ferry terminal and on the islands.
