At daycare, also called a creche or day boarding, your dog spends the working day with other dogs and carers and comes home in the evening. In Bangalore it comes in two kinds: a facility, usually a kennel or play centre with an open play area, or a sitter’s home with a few dogs. Every price below was checked on 20 October 2026.
What daycare costs in Bangalore
- PetStay.in, a sitter’s home: from ₹400 for a day; hours not listed
- Premium Pet, facility, Uttarahalli: from ₹500 for a day; open 7 am to 7 pm
- Pawsome Day Care (PetBacker, undated), home, Hoodi: from ₹650 for a day; hours not listed
- Mutts & Nutts (mytribe), facility, Hoskote Road near Whitefield: ₹750 to ₹850 for a day, one meal included; open 8 am to 8 pm
- Platinum Paws Paradise (mytribe), facility, JP Nagar 7th Phase: ₹750 to ₹950 for a day, and you send the food; open 9 am to 6 pm
- PawSpace, a sitter’s home: ₹799, in 4-hour or 12-hour slots
- HSR Dog Day Care (PetBacker, undated), home, HSR Layout: from ₹1,200 for a day; hours not listed
PetStay.in, Premium Pet and PawSpace publish these on their own sites; the mytribe figures are the listings’ “typical” estimates, and the PetBacker figures are “from” prices. Across these seven, a day costs ₹400 to ₹1,200. None published a monthly package, so ask, and ask whether pick-up and drop costs extra. Premium Pet also offers half days, and Platinum Paws hourly play at ₹250 to ₹350.
Which dogs suit daycare
Daycare suits a healthy, sociable dog that enjoys other dogs and would otherwise spend long hours alone. It suits some dogs badly:
- Shy dogs, and dogs that don’t like other dogs. VCA, a US group of veterinary hospitals, says daycare is “likely not a good choice” for a puppy that is aggressive towards other dogs or “prefers alone time” (VCA). Premium Pet says very anxious, reactive or dog-aggressive dogs may do better with one-on-one pet sitting (Premium Pet).
- Puppies before their vaccinations are done. The puppy series ends at 16 weeks or later; until then, keep puppies away from places where unknown dogs have been (puppy vaccination schedule). The UK’s daycare rules also ask for the puppy course to be finished at least 2 weeks before the first day (UK guidance).
- Older dogs and dogs with sore joints, who may not cope with young dogs’ rough play. Ask your vet first.
- Females in heat. The UK rules say they must be kept apart from male dogs; ask your daycare what it does.
- Flat-faced breeds such as pugs, which overheat with exercise; ask your vet first, and see pugs in the Bangalore heat.
What a good day looks like
We found no Indian rule in force that sets standards for dog daycare. A 2026 draft bye-law for the Bengaluru Central City Corporation would license boarding centres and creches, according to a CJ Memorial Trust analysis (September 2026), but it isn’t law yet. The UK licenses daycare, and its government guidance (updated June 2026) describes what good daycare looks like.
- Groups by size and temperament. VCA says large and small dogs should play separately. Premium Pet, Mutts & Nutts and Platinum Paws all say they group dogs by size or temperament (their pages in the table above).
- Enough staff. The UK guidance says each member of staff should care for 10 dogs or fewer; VCA says “absolutely no more than 15 dogs per person”. Ask how many dogs and carers there are on a busy weekday.
- Rest, not non-stop play. Mutts & Nutts lists “mandatory nap times” and Platinum Paws “cool-down periods in shaded areas” (their mytribe listings). The UK rules ask for a place where any dog can get away from the others, and say a dog shouldn’t be crated for more than one hour in any 8-hour period.
- Shade and water. Bangalore’s average April high is 34.1°C (IMD), and in UK vet records exercise, not hot cars, caused most heatstroke (Hall et al., 2020). From March to May, look for covered play areas, indoor time in the afternoon, and several water bowls, which the UK rules require.
- Checks before a dog joins. VCA’s checklist includes a daycare that tests each dog’s temperament before accepting it, and secure fencing.
Vaccinations and ticks
Expect to show your dog’s vaccination card. Premium Pet asks boarding dogs for DHPPi, rabies and kennel cough, and says daycare is for “social, vaccinated dogs” (Premium Pet). Mutts & Nutts says it checks vaccination and tick prevention for every dog (mytribe listing).
The kennel cough vaccine is optional, but worth it for a dog that goes to daycare (vaccination schedule). Ask your vet how far ahead of the first day to give it; vaccines for dog boarding has the maker’s timing. Keep tick prevention going every month too: the brown dog tick can live and breed indoors, in homes and kennels (tick fever in Bangalore).
Do a trial day
PawSpace advises asking any daycare for a trial day (PawSpace), and Premium Pet does a short temperament check for first-timers (Premium Pet).
- Visit first. See where dogs play, where they rest, and how they’re separated.
- Start short. A half day is enough for a first try.
- Watch afterwards. A tired dog is normal. Limping, cuts, or a dog that hides or won’t eat isn’t. If your dog starts coughing in the week or so after, tell the daycare and ask your vet.
Signs it isn’t right for your dog
- You aren’t allowed to see the play or rest areas.
- Nobody asks for your dog’s vaccination card.
- Big and small dogs play together all day.
- Dogs are out in the open at midday in April, with no shade.
- One carer with a crowd of dogs.
- Dogs are crated for most of the day.
- No clear answer to “what happens if a dog is hurt or falls ill?”
