A home groomer brings the shampoo, dryer, clippers and nail cutter to your flat and grooms your dog in your bathroom. This page has the prices Bangalore groomers publish, what a session includes, and what to sort out before the first visit. Every price below was checked on the groomer’s own page on 20 October 2026. Prices change often, so check when you ask.
Home groomer or salon?
- At home: your dog stays somewhere it knows, there’s no ride through traffic, and the groomer works on one dog at a time. You need a bathroom with water, and you’ll sweep up some hair afterwards.
- At a salon or clinic: the groomer has proper tubs and dryers, and some salons sit inside vet clinics, such as Supertails’ clinic grooming. Your dog has to travel and may wait its turn.
We found no licence rule in force for groomers in Bangalore. A 2026 draft bye-law for the Bengaluru Central City Corporation would license groomers, according to a CJ Memorial Trust analysis (September 2026), but it isn’t law yet.
What a session includes
Home groomers’ packages usually come in three levels:
- Bath: shampoo and conditioner, blow-dry, brushing, nail clipping, and ear and eye cleaning. Some add teeth cleaning or a paw massage.
- Bath and trim: adds a trim of the face, paws and hygiene (sanitary) area, or a full-body trim.
- Full groom: adds a haircut or styling, and often de-shedding or dematting.
Sploot says a session takes 60 to 120 minutes depending on the package (Sploot).
What pet grooming at home costs in Bangalore
One-off sessions, listed on each groomer’s own page, checked 20 October 2026 (PawSpace’s again on 21 October, when its rate card had changed):
- PawSpace (home): bath package from ₹999, top package with haircut ₹1,999. Bath with basic grooming ₹1,599, or ₹1,299 on a subscription; “starts from ₹999, including GST”.
- Sploot (home): bath package ₹1,399, top package with haircut ₹2,499. ₹1,259 to ₹2,249 a session on a subscription; a bath and blow-dry alone is ₹999.
- Easzo (home): bath package ₹999, top package with haircut ₹2,199. ₹100 extra for medium and large dogs, and for a medicated bath.
- Patmypets (home): bath package ₹850, top package with haircut ₹1,500. Shown as discounts from ₹1,100 and ₹2,100.
- Supertails clinics (salon): bath package ₹819 to ₹1,089, by weight, top package with haircut ₹1,499 to ₹2,499, by size and coat. Bath and dry only in the cheapest; no nail clipping listed.
So across these four home groomers, a bath package costs ₹850 to ₹1,399 and a full groom ₹1,500 to ₹2,499. At PawSpace and Sploot a one-off visit costs more than a session on a plan: PawSpace’s bath with basic grooming is ₹1,599 one-off and ₹1,299 on a subscription.
Extras to ask about, from the same rate cards:
- Ticks: a tick and flea treatment is ₹499 as a PawSpace add-on; a tick bath is ₹1,200 as a Sploot single service and ₹299 as a Supertails add-on.
- Dematting (removing knots): ₹749 at Sploot, ₹599 at Supertails; PawSpace says it depends on the condition of the coat.
How often, by coat
The Royal Kennel Club’s breed pages give a rough guide:
- Labrador: short coat that sheds; grooming once a week (RKC).
- Golden Retriever: medium coat that sheds; grooming more than once a week (RKC). Ask for de-shedding, not a shave: the American Kennel Club’s chief vet says the coat insulates the dog, and shaving makes it more prone to heatstroke and sunburn (AKC). More in the Golden Retriever guide.
- Shih Tzu: long coat that doesn’t shed; grooming every day (RKC). Brush between haircuts, or knots build up and dematting costs extra.
Use the groom as a tick check
A groomer goes over every part of your dog’s coat. Ask them to show you any ticks they find, and where. Tick fever is common across South India; see tick fever in Bangalore for the signs.
An anti-tick bath is a wash, not prevention. CAPC, the US parasite council, recommends keeping dogs on tick control all year (CAPC). Ask what’s in the tick wash: amitraz is “not recommended” for cats or small breeds such as Chihuahuas and Pomeranians, or for diabetic dogs (Merck Veterinary Manual). If your dog is already on a tick chew or spot-on, ask your vet first.
Safety at home
- Water: switch the geyser on before the groomer arrives. The AKC says the water should be lukewarm (AKC).
- Floor: put a rubber mat or old towel on the wet tiles so your dog can keep its footing.
- Dryer: the AKC advises a handheld dryer on a low setting (same AKC page). Flat-faced breeds such as pugs overheat easily, so ask for breaks and keep the bathroom ventilated; see pugs and heat.
- Nails: the quick is “the pink area of the nail that contains the blood vessels”, and it bleeds when cut (AKC). Ask whether the groomer carries styptic powder to stop the bleeding.
- Nicks and injuries: ask what happens if your dog is hurt.
- A nervous dog: start with the simplest bath. Sploot says you’re welcome to stay and watch, as some dogs settle better with you close and others alone with the groomer (Sploot). If your dog panics, stop and try another day, and ask your vet first before trying again.
Questions to ask first
- What exactly is in the package, and what costs extra (dematting, tick bath, a big dog)?
- Is it the same price for a one-off visit?
- Will the same groomer come each time?
- What shampoo do you use, and will you use mine if my vet prescribed one?
- What do you need from me: a bathroom, a plug point, towels?
- Can I watch?
Signs it isn’t right for your dog
- Suggests shaving a double-coated dog such as a Golden Retriever.
- Keeps the dryer on high heat or points it at the face.
- Holds a struggling dog down to finish a haircut instead of stopping.
