Every price here was published by a Bangalore boarder, sitter or booking site, or reported in the news, and checked on 20 October 2026. We found boarding rates for eight boarders and sitting rates from four sources. Prices change and festival weeks cost more, so check when you ask.
Who can look after your dog
- A friend, neighbour or another dog parent: someone who already knows your dog. Many dog parents take turns.
- Home boarding: your dog stays in someone’s flat or house, usually cage-free and often with other dogs. Some home boarders work on their own; sites such as PawSpace and PetStay.in put you in touch with one.
- Boarding centre, kennel or pet hotel: a dedicated place with staff, kennels or rooms and a play area. Some call themselves a pet hotel or pet resort, and people also search for a “dog hostel”.
- A pet sitter at your home: the sitter comes to your house for a few hours or stays the night. Your dog keeps its own bed, routine and smells.
- Drop-in visits: someone comes once or twice a day to feed, walk and check on your dog, which is alone in between.
Many boarders also offer day boarding (daycare): drop off in the morning, collect in the evening.
What boarding costs
Listed prices for one dog, checked 20 October 2026. Some boarders price by the day and some by the night; we’ve kept each one’s wording.
- PawSpace: home boarding, through the site. ₹899 overnight (up to 24 hours).
- PetStay.in: home boarding, through the site. From ₹900 a night.
- WeCare Pet Crèche, JP Nagar: home boarding (PetBacker listing, undated). ₹550 under 5 kg, ₹650 medium, ₹750 large, a day.
- Cartman, Koramangala: kennel at a vet hospital. ₹500 under 10 kg, ₹600 for 10 to 25 kg, ₹700 over 25 kg (per day or night not stated).
- Premium Pet Boarding, Uttarahalli: centre with kennels. From ₹650 a night standard, from ₹850 premium.
- Venus Pet Care, Banashankari 6th Stage: boarding centre. ₹650 small, ₹700 medium, ₹750 giant breeds, a day.
- Our World of Dogs: boarding centre. ₹700 small, ₹800 medium and large, ₹1,200 private boarding, a day.
- Scentral Park, Devanahalli: boarding centre. ₹1,000 to ₹1,650 a night, by size.
Where a boarder names a rate for a Labrador-sized dog, it’s ₹700 to ₹800, and for a small dog ₹500 to ₹700; Scentral Park starts at ₹1,000. PawSpace, PetStay.in and Premium Pet list one starting price; Premium Pet says its final price depends on the dog’s size.
Three wider checks:
- wagNbush, a booking site, had 19 Bengaluru boarding listings with starting prices of ₹130 to ₹900 a night; 10 of the 19 started under ₹500.
- Boarding facilities Deccan Herald spoke to over the 2025 holiday season charged ₹600 to ₹800 a day (Deccan Herald, 2 Jan 2026).
- The petboard Pet Care Price Index put the median listed price at ₹1,000 a night across 10 Bengaluru businesses that use its software, with the middle half at ₹650 to ₹1,000 (October 2026).
What sitters and drop-in visits cost
Fewer sitters publish prices. Checked 20 October 2026:
- PawSpace sitters at your home: ₹999 for up to 4 hours, ₹1,150 for a daycare slot and ₹1,350 for up to 24 hours, per pet (PawSpace).
- wagNbush says a single daytime visit of 1 to 2 hours costs ₹600 to ₹800, a full day of three visits ₹1,000 to ₹1,200, and a sitter staying overnight ₹1,200 to ₹1,500 (wagNbush).
- A Bengaluru dog-walking team lists home visits of 30 to 90 minutes from ₹350 a visit (mytribe listing).
- An undated PetBacker listing offers overnight house sitting from ₹830 (PetBacker).
So a drop-in visit runs about ₹350 to ₹800 on these listings (PawSpace’s ₹999 covers up to 4 hours), and a sitter who stays the night about ₹830 to ₹1,500.
What pushes the price up
- Size. Venus Pet Care goes from ₹650 for small dogs to ₹750 for giant breeds, WeCare Pet Crèche from ₹550 under 5 kg to ₹750 for large dogs.
- A private room or AC. Our World of Dogs charges ₹1,200 for private boarding against ₹800 in its main area. It runs AC free on hot afternoons but charges extra for full-day AC in a private room. wagNbush advises asking about ventilation and backup power for the AC in summer, which matters most for pugs and other flat-faced breeds.
- Festivals. PawSpace says festive-season rates are 25 to 30% higher. Premium Pet Boarding says holiday surcharges may apply at Diwali, Christmas and New Year, and it may ask for an advance. Ask how much is paid upfront and what happens if you cancel close to the date.
- Pick-up and drop. From ₹499 at PawSpace; PetStay.in charges by distance.
- Long stays. Premium Pet Boarding and Venus Pet Care both say they offer weekly and monthly rates. Ask whether there’s a minimum stay.
Busy dates to plan around
Busy dates in 2026, from Karnataka’s holiday list:
- Deepavali: Naraka Chaturdashi on Sunday 8 November, Balipadyami on Tuesday 10 November. Take Monday off and it’s four days.
- Kanakadasa Jayanthi: Friday 27 November, a long weekend.
- Christmas: Friday 25 December, then New Year.
Over the 2025 year-end holidays, Bangalore home boarders told Deccan Herald they had more enquiries and capped admissions so each pet got enough attention; one said stays had grown to two weeks from a week or less (Deccan Herald). Venus Pet Care says to plan early for holidays and weekends, and Premium Pet Boarding says the same for festivals. Sort it out once your dates are fixed, leaving time for a trial night.
If your dog is scared of crackers, plan Deepavali boarding with extra care: tell the boarder, check the ID tag has your number, and read keeping your dog safe at Deepavali.
How to choose
Visit first, and meet the person who’ll look after your dog. Go and see where your dog will stay. A good boarder is glad to show you round, and will want to meet your dog too; the UK’s National Animal Welfare Trust advises visiting before you choose (NAWT). wagNbush says most of the Bengaluru boarders and sitters on its site offer a 15 to 20 minute meet-and-greet first.
Do a trial stay. Board your dog for a night or two well before the real trip, so the long stay is a return to a familiar place (Purina). Scentral Park runs an assessment for first-time boarders.
Have the vaccination card ready. Venus Pet Care requires rabies, the combination vaccine (DHPP) and kennel cough (Bordetella). Premium Pet Boarding asks for vaccines to be done at least 14 days before the stay (Premium Pet). The nasal kennel cough vaccine needs longer: its maker, MSD, advises giving it at least 3 weeks before a first stay, so allow a month; see vaccines for dog boarding. Kennel cough spreads fast where dogs are housed close together, including boarding kennels and daycare (Merck Veterinary Manual). Ask your vet first whether your dog needs the kennel cough vaccine and how early; see the puppy vaccination schedule.
Keep flea treatment and deworming up to date. A good boarder will ask for proof of both (NAWT). In Bangalore, give the tick preventive on time before your dog goes: see tick fever in Bangalore.
Look at the place. Is it clean and dry, are gates and fences secure, is someone there day and night, is there CCTV (NAWT)? In a flat, look at the balcony and the main door.
Ask how many dogs there will be, and how they’re grouped. Venus Pet Care says it separates dogs by size and temperament. One Kaggadasapura home boarder had 12 dogs and seven cats in his care in January 2026 (Deccan Herald). Ask how many will be there on your dates, and how many people look after them.
Ask where your dog sleeps: in the boarder’s room, a crate, a kennel or a room of its own, and whether your dog will be crated at all. PetStay.in tells the people who board dogs through it never to cage pets (PetStay.in).
Ask about the vet. Which clinic would they use, and will they call you (NAWT)? Leave your vet’s number and a written note of food, medicines and habits.
Send your dog’s own food. Venus Pet Care and Scentral Park both suggest it.
Going away? Ask dog people near you
Tell us where and when, and we'll get back to you when we find someone nearby who loves dogs.
Ask for a handSigns it isn’t right for your dog
- You can’t see where your dog will stay (NAWT).
- Nobody asks for your dog’s vaccination card.
- Nobody is there at night (NAWT).
- No clear answer on how many dogs there will be, or where yours will sleep.
After the stay
Watch for a cough that sounds like a goose honk. Kennel cough usually starts 5 to 10 days after contact with an infected dog; it’s usually mild, but puppies are more prone to severe disease (Merck Veterinary Manual). If your dog coughs, or is off its food or tired, see your vet.
FAQs
Can I board a puppy? Some boarders take puppies from 3 months, after their first vaccines (Venus Pet Care). WSAVA advises keeping puppies away from places outside the home that may be contaminated until the puppy series is finished at 16 weeks or later (WSAVA 2024), so ask your vet first. A sitter at home avoids the problem.
Do Bangalore boarders need a licence? We found no licence rule in force. A 2026 draft bye-law for the Bengaluru Central City Corporation would bring boarding centres and creches under licensing, according to a CJ Memorial Trust analysis (September 2026).
Home boarding, a kennel or a sitter? It depends on your dog’s age, health and nerves. See pet sitter or dog boarding.
